Melted Pepper Jack Cheese, Chunky Tomato, and Crispy Pepperoni on a mini naan bread pair perfectly for this quick, holiday appetizer.
Cheese and tomato are the savory peanut butter & jelly. They are each yummy on their own but taste like perfection when combined. For me, there is nothing better than a garden-fresh tomato, but during the colder months, that is impossible here in New England. Thankfully, I can still achieve the garden-fresh tomato flavor thanks to Hunt’s Diced Tomatoes.Hunt’s Diced Tomatoes are a pantry staple in my house. I always have a few different varieties in a rotation because I use them frequently for stews, nachos, pizza, and appetizers like these Mini Spicy Naan Pizza Bites.
You can easily find them at Walmart in the canned goods aisle.
They are super fresh tasting despite being canned because they use FlashSteam® to peel their all-natural tomatoes. I also so appreciate the BPA-free can liner, and the fact that these tomatoes have zero artificial flavors, preservatives, or ingredients.
When you open a can of Hunt’s Diced Tomatoes you can smell the freshness! That is why I am confident these make a wonderful addition to my meals when fresh tomatoes are not available.
We all know that the December is probably one of the busiest entertaining months on the calendar. I have so many tasty recipes floating through my head for Christmas & New Year’s and I wanted to share this one with you all to hopefully help you start a new tradition.
I mean, pizza can be snazzed up for the holidays, and this recipe is living proof!
These Mini Spicy Naan Pizza Bites Appetizers are so cheesy and have the perfect amount of flavor all with a hint of spice thanks to the use of Pepperjack Cheese. You could use pretty much ANY melty cheese, but I wanted a little kick.
I used Stonefire Mini Naan but you could use sliced Italian Bread, focaccia, or ciabatta bread if these are not available.
To make them, I pre-heated the oven to 375 degrees and spread some drained Hunt’s Diced Tomatoes over each little naan along with some Italian Basil. Then, I added two crisscrossed, thin slices of Pepperjack Cheese to each little Naan, and sprinkled pepperoni on top. I baked these for 8 minutes and then topped them with fresh parsley after they came out of the oven.
They were lip-smacking good!
I totally recommend that you all try them this holiday season! They would go well with pretty much any fancy drink, and are super quick to put together as you can see!
How will you be starting a new tradition this holiday season?
