Want to make your fur baby a cozy and comfy blanket, but have no sewing skills? That is okay, neither do I! But, this no-sew fleece blanket DIY is easy enough to make yourself!
When it comes to my family, I care about the types of food I feed them. I might share some indulgent foods from time to time but behind the scenes, my family eats pretty wholesome foods, and that includes my dog. I have learned years ago to never feed my pet dog foods where the first ingredient listed is corn.
Our little Beasley gets the best of the best when it comes to food. I either prepare her extras of our proteins, or she eats mainly grain free or meat-based foods.
As mentioned, we prefer grain-free varieties for our dog. The Grain Free Easy to Digest Chicken, Sweet Potato, & Pumpkin Recipe is our little Beasley’s favorite. The kibble size is perfect for her little mouth, and she seems to enjoy the flavor pairing. Plus, it is made to help keep her active and healthy.
Our dog loves to play chase but also loves to rest in her comfy zone. I typically change out her bedding a few times a year so I thought it would be fun to share this inexpensive DIY No-Sew Fleece Pet Blanket made with supplies that can also be found at Walmart.
Here is what you will need to make a pet-sized DIY No-Sew Fleece Blanket:
- 1 yard of two different patterned fleece sheets (cost me $8 total)
- Scissors
- Tailor’s Chalk
- Yard Stick
- Small Ruler
Directions:
Lay out your fleece on a large work area or floor
Match up fleece corner to corner *it is ok if the fleece is a little crooked
After fleece is matched up mark off four-inch squares in each corner (4 total)
Now, mark off one-inch rectangles around the fleece *use the four inch square height as your guide
Cut out each square
Now slice each one inch line mark and knot them off, continue until entire fleece is marked off.
After making a few of these blankets, I found that you can just eyeball the fringe thickness after a while to save time. It is ok if they are slightly off because the knots will hide any imperfections.
My dog LOVES her DIY No-Sew Fleece Pet Blanket which she takes advantage of after playtime, and at night.
Be sure to check out Nature’s Recipe Dog food online and the next time you shop at Walmart. It is reasonably priced and conveniently located in the pet food isle.
