Primitive White Branch Easter Egg Tree Decorative Idea
I am so excited that Spring is officially less than 3 weeks away! Even though I have piles of snow as high as five feet in my front yard, I am trying to bring cheer and color into my cozy home. Besides the most important religious reasons, Easter is just an amazing time of year. It is a time when the earth has a time to re-bloom, and rebirth in a sense. It is also the time for splashes of color, flowers, and Easter Eggs!
Yes, even though Easter eggs have no real significance with the true meaning of Easter, it has always been a family tradition to color, paint, and decorate with them. I just LOVE eggs so much and find them so versatile to decorate with. Since my son decided to bite through a few in my decor stash I figured I’d get some new Easter decor. I picked up some hanging eggs from World Market, and nest, and a even a few plates to add some much needed color to my home.
My mom recently gave me a beautiful primitive lighted white branch tree, and I knew it would be perfect for some hanging eggs. That’s where the inspiration for my Primitive White Branch Easter Egg Tree came about. I was planning on making a fresh cut branch, and egg centerpiece, but this tree was just ideal for a primitive style Easter Egg Tree.
Making this tree was actually very effortless, but I still wanted to share it with you all because I am just so happy with it’s inviting, and cozy look. I tried my hardest to alternate the colors and meticulously add the eggs to the branches. I am sure my kids will rearrange it many times over, but at least I have it where I want it for the time being.
Here are a few other primitive touches of Easter I added to my home.
I plan on creating more DIYs, and incorporating flowers, and mason jar crafts into the mix, but that will likely happen this weekend. Stay tuned for more Easter craft and decor ideas. Be sure to follow us on Pinterest too for lots of ideas!

The Easter Egg:
For Christians, the Easter egg is symbolic of the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Painting Easter eggs is an especially beloved tradition in the Orthodox and Eastern Catholic churches where the eggs are dyed red to represent the blood of Jesus Christ that was shed on the cross.
Easter eggs are blessed by the priest at the end of the Paschal vigil and distributed to the congregants. The hard shell of the egg represents the sealed Tomb of Christ, and cracking the shell represents Jesus’ resurrection from the dead.
Moreover, historically Christians would abstain from eating eggs and meat during Lent, and Easter was the first chance to eat eggs after a long period of abstinence. (Orthodox Christians continue to abstain from eggs during Lent.)
