Summer is right around the corner and that means that many of you will be spending your time soaking up the sun and enjoying the great outdoors. In a few weeks, my kids will be exploring our yard, and playing little games of soccer and softball to pass the time away. Since many of you have children in sports like soccer, I thought it would be fun to feature Malt-o-Meal’s Flavor of the Month, which happens to be Coco Roos in a fun Soccer-themed treat.
These Chocolate-Dipped Soccer Themed Pretzel Sticks were fun to make and feature large pretzel sticks dipped in chocolate and covered in crushed, and whole Coco Roos, marshmallows, and chocolate swizzle. They are fun to make and enlist help from the kids and would be a perfect soccer-themed snack! Simply put them in some bags and bring them for the team to enjoys after a game.
I don’t know about your family, but our’s not only loves sports but also a well-balanced breakfast to fuel the day. I buy the Super Size bag of Coco Roos at Walmart or my local grocer because each resealable bag contains a whopping 36 servings! That is about 2 weeks worth of breakfasts for us. When served traditionally with milk, my kids just love to suck up all that chocolaty goodness in their bowls. Coco Roos are also perfect as a snack by themselves or used in other creative sweet treats like these Chocolate-Dipped Soccer Themed Pretzel Sticks.
Want to make some Chocolate-Dipped Soccer Themed Pretzel Sticks for your next soccer game, or themed party?
Here is what you will need:
- 12 pretzel sticks (large)
- 2 cups of crushed Coco Roos
- 1/2 cup whole Coco Roos
- 1 cup of white chocolate candy melts
- 1/2 cup black chocolate candy melts
- 1/2 cup of marshmallows
- 2 1/2 tsps of coocnut oil for melting each candy
- piping bags (2), two microwave safe bowls, parchment paper, baking sheet
In a food processor, crush your 2 cups of Coco Roos cereal
Melt each bowl of candy and coconut oil in 20-second intervals, stirring between each round until melted
Prepare two baking sheets with parchment paper, one for dipping and one for setting
Dip each pretzel stick into white chocolate, and then into crushed Coco Roos
After your sticks are all dipped, carefully dip your marshmallow and whole Coco Roos into chocolate as use it to adhere them to your pretzel sticks; just a dab should work well.
Once you have a pattern of cereal and marshmallows, swizzle each stick with both white, and black candy.
Allow stick to set in the fridge for about an hour.
Place them in soccer-themed treat bags for favors, or to enjoy after a soccer game.
These Chocolate-Dipped Soccer Themed Pretzel Sticks made with Coco Roos cereal were so darn good that my kids gobbled them up. The best part is they are a no-bake summer treat that is fun for all to help make, and mighty tasty!
