Can you believe October is already next month? Seriously, doesn’t it feel like it was *just* Summer last week? Now that the cool fall air is here, and pumpkin galore, now is the time to start thinking about Halloween and Trick or Treaters. Do you or your children go Trick or Treating, or do your pass out candy or treats?
These days, my husband rather be the one passing out treats to the little ghouls and goblins that visit our home. I on the other hand tend to take my kids out to visit a few neighborhood houses. My kids love the trick or treaters just to enjoy the generous trinkets and candy people kindly pass out.
I am not exactly thrilled about all the candy, but beggars can’t be choosers. To all you people out there who give out small toys, quarters, potato chips and even fruit snacks–THANK YOU! As a parent I really appreciate that more than you know! I love when my kids get pencils and stickers because they really enjoy them, and it is one less piece of candy.
To be honest, I think I just finished throwing out the last of this past Halloween’s candy. I pace my kids and give them 1-2 pieces of good chocolate each day for the first week or so. I am not one to hype my kids up on sugar so I thought it would be great to give you all some non-candy Halloween trick or treat ideas.
Most of these items can be purchased from Oriental Trading Company which is an online and in-print catalog that sells Halloween trinkets, and even candy in-bulk. You can also purchase Halloween costumes, and even super creepy Halloween Zombies and decor from them.
