Bathrooms, How to Deep Clean
Toilets
Giving your bathroom a deep clean is super beneficial to keep your home smelling fresh and truly clean. Germs thrive in the bathroom toilets, shower stalls, and tubs! But, getting your toilet area clean doesn’t have to be hard!
Clorox® Toilet Bowl Cleaner: Cool Wave is one of my all-time favorite cleaners for a sparkling clean toilet bowl. To use, simply twist the cap to the open position, lift your toilet seat cover, and squeeze the gel out along the inside perimeter of your toilet bowl.
This toilet gel cleaner kills 99.9% of bacteria and germs and really does leave your toilet clean with minimal effort. I let my gel stay on for 1 hour before I give the full toilet a good scrub. This includes cleaning the seat, handle, and base of the toilet.
To get the toilet base sparkling, I use a spray bleach cleaner like Clorox® Clean UP (Spray) Original. I spray the product, allow it to sit for a few minutes, and wipe down the area with gloved hands and a cleaning cloth.
Bathroom Floors
Steam Cleaning the bathroom floors provides some of the best cleaning power with little effort. Remove all mats from your bathroom, vacuum, and then steam them. Allow the floors to dry before placing the rugs.
Tub/Shower
To get the tub and shower clean, we love to also use bleach cleansers to kill any mildew and germs. Clorox Clean UP Original Spray with Bleach Spray Bottle Original works well to get your shower or tub sparkling clean.
Bathroom Sink
To give your bathroom sinks a good clean, you could also use bleach-based products like Clorox Clean UP Original Spray
Mirrors
Glass cleaner or vinegar paired with a lint-free towel work best to get your glass clean and shiny.
Towels
Throw away or donate old towels not needed anymore. To get the funk out of towels, wash them in a bleach solution with warm water.
Soap and Shampoo
Throw away old pieces of soap and unused shampoo. Consider purging your bathroom vanity products that are expired or unnecessary. Remember to recycle any packaging that can be recycled.
Bedrooms, How to Deep Clean
Ceiling Fans
Dust the fan blades (vacuum is best method)
Maybe spray the blades with a dust spray to hinder the future buildup of dust?
Clean the light (if equipped) with extra help to support the cover, etc.
Wipe and clean the wall switches with Clorox® Disinfecting Wipes
Beds
Change the sheets.
Air out the mattress and pillows.
Clean under, behind, around the bed with vacuum.
Carpets
Vacuum carpets and baseboards.
Spot clean stains on the carpet with carpet cleaner.
Additionally, you could rent a carpet cleaner for a deep clean

Countertops
Remove all small appliances or objects.
Wipe down all countertop surfaces with Clorox Disinfecting Wipes or
Clorox Clean UP Original Spray.
If you have granite countertops, you should seal them at least once per year. Spring is the perfect time while your already in deep cleaning mode! Simply follow the directions on a granite countertop sealant.
Sink
Clorox Clean Up Original Spray does a wonderful job at cleaning sinks–especially porcelain ones! It used to get our old sink perfectly white!
Refrigerator
Remove all old/spoiled foods.
Clean/wipe the inside using Clorox Disinfecting Wipes.
Stove and Oven
While the oven is off, remove loose debris and either use the self clean mode, or a cleaner to get your oven good as new. Making sure the area is well ventilated is a must!
Cupboards
Remove all contents.
Vacuum and wipe down the insides with Clorox Disinfecting Wipes.
Throw away all expired foods and spices. Label foods like flour and sugar for a neater and easier to use system.
Living Room
Floors
Steam clean floors, clean baseboards.
Walls
Clorox Disinfecting Wipes can clean door handles, some wall surfaces, and window sills.
Furniture
Remove linens and throw pillows from couch. Remove cushions and vacuum inside and outside. Air out cushions. Vacuum around and behind couch as well.
TV and Electronics
Vacuum dust from the vents of electronics. Use an air blower to clean keyboards. Clorox Disinfecting Wipes can clean remotes.
Whole House
Windows
Make sure you are armed with either paper towels, rags, and a good glass cleaner. A small wastebasket can help keep dirty clothes in one place.
Filters
Change air filters and water filters where needed. See manufacturer’s instructions for details.
Garage Floors
If you live in an area that gets snow in the winter and you park your car in the garage, you’ve likely deposited road salt residue and sand onto your garage floor.
Salt is corrosive to many materials like metal and the concrete your garage floor is made of. Mop it with water and a mild detergent, or at least give it a good sweep job to remove salt and sand residue.
