Tailgating & Homegating season just got a whole lot tastier! Amp up your football celebrations with this Easy Taco Hot Dog recipe. This grilled hot dog recipe combines two of the best game day foods into one tasty, easy to eat dog. This post is sponsored by Conagra, but opinions expressed are my own.
Tis the season for not only frightful scares, but also the start of all things tailgating. I don’t know about you, but I look forward to both tailgating and homegating! There is something so comforting about watching our home team play while eating delicious grilled food in good company.
One of my family’s favorite grilled tailgating faves are hot dogs. Hot dogs are a classic food that both our kids and us enjoy. But, not any old hot dogs will do! We all have our preferred brands, and Hebrew National Beef Franks happens to be one of ours.
I just love how these hot dogs are made from 100% Kosher, premium cut beef. They are of the highest quality and have only 150 calories per serving. You can find these delicious hot dogs at Walmart.
Speaking of Walmart, we used their super convenient Online Grocery Pickup to schedule a tailgating-only order. I picked up taco seasoning, ground beef, corn chips, drinks, candy, hot dog buns, cheese, RO*TEL, and Rosarita Traditional Refried Beans.
The RO*TEL Original Diced Tomatoes and Green Chilies ( 10 ounces), and Rosarita Traditional Refried Beans (16 ounces) came together to help make our Taco Hot dogs the tastiest on the block!
I love how RO*TEL Original is a tasty, short-cut product when it comes to tailgating. There is not need to cut up tomatoes or make salsa.
If you haven’t tried RO*TEL you are missing out! It is made with vine-ripened tomatoes, zesty green chilies, and has just 25 calories per serving!
The Rosarita Traditional Refried Beans can be easily prepared in the microwave and have just 120 calories per serving (no trans fat).
They are delicious and can easily be heated on the grill (in a grill-safe pan), or in the microwave.
Walmart Online Grocery Pickup
We used the mighty convenient Walmart Online Grocery Pickup to order our tailgating food. Using this service is perfect for heading to a tailgate because you don’t have to spoil the fun! It is easy to just pick up yoru groceries and head to the game.
To place an order, log into your Walmart.com account, and add a minimum of $30 to your online cart.
Then, you pick a time slot that in convenient to you. We are early birds so anytime in the early morning worked best for us. Once your order is packed, you get a text and email that it is ready.
When you are on your way to your time slot for pickup, simply check in and let them know you are on your way. Once you park, log back in and let them know your slot number.
It literally took me 5 mins before my shopper greeted me at the car and helped place my groceries in the trunk.

I’ve never thought about putting taco toppings on a hot dog. I have served hot dogs in tortillas when I realized that I was out of hot dog buns and the hot dogs were already on the grill. I’ll have to try taco toppings on my hot dog next time.
