White Chocolate Dipped Mummy Oreo Cookies
If there is one time of year that I totally enjoy, it has to be the Fall. I love the cool, crisp air, pumpkins, apples, and Halloween. Yes, I am a Christian who loves Halloween just for the fun of it. I do not worship anything, or follow the true meaning of Halloween. I just enjoy decorating my house in a non evil manner, and I enjoy the food!
Halloween wouldn’t be Halloween without the candy and fun sweet treats of the season. These chilly fall like days have really been getting me in the mood to wrap up summer and bring on autumn. I was browsing a Halloween catalog that arrived in my mail box last night, and suddenly got inspired to whip up some Halloween treats. I figured i’d be ahead of the game because I anticipate “brewing” up tons this season.
So here you have it, today’s easy and kid-approved recipe or DIY rather is for White Chocolate Dipped Mummy Oreo Cookies. These are simple as pie to make, and require pretty much ZERO prep. In fact, all you need a few common items to make these adorable White Chocolate Dipped Mummy Oreo Cookies:
- 1 1/2 cups premium white chocolate morsels (divided 1 cup + 1/2 cup for mummy bandage detail)
- 1/2 tablespoon of coconut oil (I love to add oil to my quick prep melting chocolate. It allows for a much smoother dip)
- 12 Oreos
- Black candy Sixlets Pearls, or any other eyes
- Small flat shaped piping tip, and bag, wax paper, fork, microwave safe bowl
Add your 1 cup chocolate morsels, and oil to a microwave safe bowl. Cook on 50% in 20 second intervals (stir between each) until chocolate is creamy.
Once chocolate is melted, add Oreos in one at a time to cover them. I allowed each one to drip for a few seconds with a fork before placing on waxed paper.
Once all the cookies are dipped, add the Pearl Sixlets, allow cookies to harden at room temperature for a few minutes
Add you 1/2 cup white chocolate morsels to your microwaves safe bowl, and again melt (without oil) for 20 second intervals until creamy.
Place melted chocolate in a piping bag, and add mummy bandage detail
Allow your mummies to cool in the fridge for 30 minutes before enjoying them.
These could also be made into Dipped Mummy Oreo Cookie Pops by placing a cake pop stick into the Oreo cream. Simply open the Oreo, stick pop stick into the cream, and close the cookie back up. *Great method for those of you who do not have molds like myself.
