Equipment

  • Air fryer
  • Spoon
  • pastry brush

Ingredients

  • 25 wonton wrappers
  • 20 ounces apple pie filling
  • cups powdered sugar
  • ½ teaspoon cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoons water *can also use milk
  • 3 tablespoons melted butter

Instructions

  • Canned apple slices are too large for wonton wrappers. Pour the canned apple pie filling onto a cutting board. Run a knife through the filling to finely dice the apple slices into small, pea-sized pieces. Scoop the chopped filling into a bowl.
  • Do not overfill, or they will burst open in the air fryer. Lay a wonton wrapper flat on a clean surface. Place 1 teaspoon of the chopped apple filling in the center. Dip your pastry brush into the melted butter, and run it along the edges of the wrapper. Fold the wrapper in half diagonally to create a triangle, pressing firmly to push out any air and seal the edges tightly. Repeat until you’ve assembled your desired amount.
  • Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C). Arrange the wontons in a single layer (work in batches if necessary so they don’t overlap) and lightly brush the tops of the wontons with melted butter. Air fry for 6-8 minutes, flipping halfway through, until they are golden brown and crispy.
  • While the wontons are cooking, whisk together the powdered sugar, water (or milk), cinnamon, and (optional) vanilla in a small bowl. Start with 1 tablespoon of milk and add more until you reach your desired consistency for drizzling or dipping.
  • Arrange the warm wontons on a serving platter. Drizzle the cinnamon icing generously over the top (if serving right away), or serve it on the side as a dip. Enjoy immediately!
