Strawberry Cream Puffs

Ingredients

  • 8 ounces Heavy whipping cream *half the pint
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3 tablespoons powdered sugar Reserve 1 teaspoon for dusting
  • 17.3 ounces puff pastry thawed in refridgerator
  • 1 cup fresh strawberries sliced
  • 1 tablespoon butter melted

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to the temperature required by your puff pastry packaging. Ours was 400℉.
  • In a large bowl add the heavy cream, extract, and 2 tablespoons of powdered sugar.
  • Mix on high for 3-5 minutes until stiff peaks form in the cream.
  • Add cream to a piping bag with a large star tip. Place cream in the fridge.
  • Using a heart-shaped cutter, cut out your puff pastry hearts, or slice dough into even rectangles (9 per sheet for rectangles, 6 for hearts). Brush with melted butter.
  • Bake for 18-20 minutes or until puffy and golden-brown.
  • Allow to cool for 5 mins and then slice them in half
  • Layer 3 strawberries on one half of each shell, pipe with cream
  • Finish off with a sprinkle of powdered sugar, and you have a tasty dessert.
