Manwich Chicken Pasta Skillet is an easy weeknight meal made with common ingredients. This flavorful dinner idea is cheap & can be made ahead of time and heated to serve.
Happy New Year everyone! I hope this year treats you right, and brings lots of success, happiness and joy. I don’t really make New Year’s resolutions (do you?), but I did make some goals this year. One of the most important is to always have dinner as a family no matter how stressful it can be with three little ones.
Tonight, we will be celebrating Manwich Monday with a delicious Manwich Chicken Pasta Skillet that I made yesterday.
I do know about you all, but Manwich is a product I grew up on. My mom would always make Sloppy Joes when I was a kid. We all loved them, and they were the perfect quick meal idea.
I remember running to the corner store to pick up a couple of cans of Manwich Original and then I’d watch my mom brown the hamburger for our sandwiches. They were so sweet, tangy, and yummy!
Now, as a mom to three, I like to think “outside the bun” when it comes to Manwich Monday. Cooking with hearty and better for you ingredients is something I am passionate about so I tend to mix things up and add Manwich sauce to chicken, and vegetable dishes.
My most recent dish was so easy to make and required minimal effort. I boiled some whole grain pasta elbows, browned one lb of boneless, skinless chicken, an onion and combined it all with some cheese and some fresh parsley!
Bam! I had a nutritious Manwich Chicken Pasta Skillet meal that will even provide leftovers for tomorrow’s lunches! Got to love when that sort of luck happens!
Ingredients
- 1 can of Manwich Original
- 1 can of Manwich Thick & Chunky
- 1 box of pasta elbows
- 1 medium onion diced
- 1 lb of boneless, skinless chicken
- 1 tablespoon of olive oil
- salt, pepper, onion powder, garlic powder to taste
- 1 cup of Parmesan cheese *or your favorite blend
- parsley to taste
Make it!
In a cast iron skillet, add olive oil, spiced chicken, and 1 onion. Cook chicken until clear juices run free (165 degree internal temp.)
Boil pasta until al dente.
Once pasta is done, drain and add it to the skillet.
Add Manwich sauces and combine fully with a spoon.
Sprinkle with cheese, and bake in the oven at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 15 minutes.
Add parsley to taste, and enjoy your Manwich Monday meal.
You can use cheddar cheese, or really any cheese you have on hand-the cheesier, the better!
