“We are Hallmark Ambassadors, and love it! All views expressed are that of our own.”
Growing up, my mom never really had huge birthday parties for us kids. She’d make a cake for each of our birthdays, get us a Hallmark Card, and a gift we really wanted. I loved these intimate birthday celebrations with our close family and decided that when I had kids I would do the same. Now, as a mother of three, when it is my kids birthdays I make a fun tablescape for us all to enjoy and celebrate the day with cake, cookies, candies, and fun.
My son recently turned 4 and decided that he wanted a Cookies & Candy Kid’s Birthday Party. As you can imagine cookies, candy, and cake are a treat in our home typically reserved for celebrations. Little B is my only son and last child so I created him the most kid-friendly tablescape complete with candies, cookies, and even a “Cookie Monster” cake. He freaked when he saw his birthday table prepared for him.
What do you think the first thing he went for was?
If you guessed the noise makers then you win! My son, or kids I should say LOVE to make noise and had fun so those were a must. No party is complete without the party hats, plates, cups, or presents. We each got him something fun and laid them out there. Oh, and you cannot forget the Hallmark Birthday Cards. We each spent quite a while in Walgreens picking out birthday cards from the Shoebox, Signature, and Innovations line.
My oldest daughter picked out the Judy Hops Zootopia card, my youngest daughter the Caticorn Shoebox card (too cute). My husband chose the Just Our Little Wish card Hallmark Cares card which had a cute pop up inside. It was a tough choice, but I decided to go with the Signature Collection Celebrate card. Since my son can be tough on envelopes and ripped a card or two in his life by accident, I displayed them on the table for him to admire.
Then there was the cake. Now doesn’t that cake look too cute too eat? I love how the bakery was so clever to have made that spilled cookies and milk cup. My son actually loved it so much and didn’t want to eat it. Between the cake, cookies, and all that candy, I think it is safe to say my kids got their sugar fix for the next year! I love how easy it is to fill large mason jars with pretty colored candies. Makes for such cute birthday party decorations too!
Would you like to host a Cookies & Candy Kid’s birthday party? I created this one for under $30 believe it or not!
