Make an Eggnog Latte at Home
For me, nothing is tastier than a glass of eggnog this time of year. It is a tradition I have always loved since a kid. Growing up, my mom would buy me a half gallon of golden eggnog and I’d have it all to myself because no one else liked it. My wife is not really a fan of it’s thick consistency, but she does love it in a latte.
She was dishing out a ton of money for them at her favorite coffee shop, but I decided I would surprise her and start making them at home. I hate wasting money so I started putting my espresso machine to good use, and decided to make us one at home to try.
Would it be as good as the coffee shops?
Well, after my wife’s first sip, the answer was “Wow, this tastes BETTER than……”
While there is nothing wrong with a splurge here, and there I think spending close to $5 on ONE drinks is pretty ridiculous. My wife can put away a good amount of coffee so to see her spend so much was a wake up call that, that money could be put to better use.
An eggnog latte at home is as only good as the coffee you invest in. We use espresso roasted beans and tend to stock up on our fav brands when they go on sale. A cheap coffee will yield cheap results so choose wisely and opt for whole bean espresso so you can freshly grind up them oils.
As for your liquids, they should be steamed and frothed. You can watch the below video to get a better sense on how it is done.
Eggnog Latte Ingredients:Â
- 1/4 cup milk
- 2/3 golden eggnog
- 2 ounces Espresso
- Nutmeg
- Latte Machine
Directions:
Steam and froth the eggnog and milk *our model is the De’Longhi 15 Bar Pump Espresso Make (less than $100 now on Amazon)
